Job summary

Avera on Louise Health Campus in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver comprehensive nursing care on a multidisciplinary team. You will review physician orders, develop and implement care plans, educate patients and families, and document care activities in the medical record.

Requires active RN license and ability to work day shifts with on-call nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong communication, infection control, and teamwork are essential to excellent patient

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team.
• Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by assessing patients and documenting status.
• Educates patients and families about condition, medications and self-care.
• Evaluates patient care and updates care plans as needed.
• Maintains safe patient care environment by following infection-control policies and procedures.
• Documents patient care services in patient records.
