Job summary

Bronte Health & Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

You will direct daily nursing activities, supervise licensed practical nurses and CNAs, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic resident care. A nursing degree and RN license are required, along with CPR certification. This is a full-time, on-site position in Texas.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants.
• Direct the daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Participate in the admission, discharge, and transfers of residents as required.
• Assess for changes in residents' status, notifying the physician and resident's family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders to medical record and carry out orders as written.
• Prepare and administer medications as per physicians' orders and observe for adverse effects as indicated.
• Perform wound treatments as per physicians' orders, observe for changes, and document accordingly as indicated.
• Provide nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit.
• Provide direct care skills, such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, etc. in accordance with current policies and procedures, as assigned.
• Perform rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and personnel are performing their assigned duties.
• Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed to ensure residents' needs are holistically met.
• Participate in management team meetings as indicated to discuss census changes, resident changes in status or care need, or complaints or concerns
• May assist in evaluating work performance of nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies and as directed
