Job summary

Bronte Health and Rehab Center in Texas is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. You will provide high-quality patient care to residents and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic, compassionate care.

This full-time position requires an active RN license, CPR certification, and familiarity with long-term care settings. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, administer medications, and participate in admissions and care planning.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants.
• Direct the daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current regulations and facility policies.
• Participate in admission, discharge, and transfers of residents as required.
• Assess for changes in residents' status, notify physician and family, and document.
• Transcribe physician orders to medical record and carry out orders as written.
• Prepare and administer medications as per physicians' orders and observe for adverse effects.
• Perform wound treatments as per physicians' orders, observe for changes, and document accordingly.
• Provide nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit.
• Provide direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, etc.
• Perform rounds to ensure resident needs are met and staff carry out duties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet residents' needs holistically.
• Participate in management team meetings to discuss census/status or concerns.
• Assist in evaluating work performance of nursing personnel and apply discipline as needed.
