Job summary

SoftPath Medical seeks an experienced CVOR RN in Chesapeake, VA to support cardiac and thoracic surgery teams. The role requires EPIC proficiency, BLS, and availability for 5x8 or 4x10 shifts with biweekly call duty (including Sundays). Preference for ACLS/CNOR certifications.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years in the field and a clean background. The position emphasizes patient safety and teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac/Thoracic surgery experience.
• BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• EPIC proficiency is required without exception.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Cardiac/Thoracic surgery when needed and support in the Main OR when no cases are scheduled.
• Provide call duty every other week, including Sundays, with holiday coverage where possible.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and participate in shift coverage per 5x8 or 4x10 schedules.

This role is based in a picturesque region known for its abundant outdoor activities, featuring trails suitable for hikers of all skill levels and more than 20 waterways to explore. It is located just minutes from nearby coastal cities.

Shift Options

Available work schedules include 5x8 and 4x10 shifts. Please indicate your preferred shift when submitting your application.

• 5x8: 06:45 - 15:15
• 4x10: 06:45 - 17:15

Call Requirements

Call duty is required every other week, covering Sunday through Saturday, shared with one other CVOR RN. Preference is given to those able to provide holiday call coverage during Christmas.

Qualifications and Experience

• Required expertise in Cardiac and Thoracic surgery.
• May be asked to assist in the Main OR when no Cardiac/Thoracic cases are scheduled.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• ACLS and CNOR certifications are preferred.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in EPIC is required without exception.

Local Rules

• Applicants residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
• A valid driver's license must be provided for address verification before any offer is finalized.
