Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana) is seeking a registered nurse for the Step-Down Unit (PCU) on a 12-hour day shift. Up to $8,700 sign-on bonus. You will care for higher-acuity patients, monitor and respond in real time, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.

New grads to experienced RNs are supported with mentorship, professional growth, and opportunities to pursue certifications while enjoying comprehensive benefits and state-of-the-art tools.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• RN Indiana License.
• CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with higher acuity needs including cardiac drips and telemetry.

• Collaborate with providers and care team to deliver coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.

Our PCU bridges the gap between ICU and general care. You'll care for complex patients, build advanced clinical skills, and work side-by-side with an incredible multidisciplinary team dedicated to support, safety, and excellence.

What You'll Do:

• Care for patients with higher acuity needs including cardiac drips, post-op recovery, telemetry, respiratory support, and more

• Monitor, assess, and respond to patient conditions in real-time

• Collaborate with providers, therapists, pharmacists, and fellow nurses to deliver coordinated care

• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion

• Document assessments, medications, and interventions in our EHR system with accuracy and timeliness

Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program.

• Licensure: RN Indiana License. CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.

• Experience: One Year RN experience
