Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an RN for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) at the Main Campus in Cleveland, OH. The unit features enhanced technology and a 14-bed capacity, caring for patients with CHF, COPD, DKA and sepsis.

You will interpret EKGs, manage central lines, and assist with bedside procedures in a fast-paced ICU environment, collaborating with PCNAs, interns, and providers while applying strong critical thinking and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) for patients with congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA and sepsis.
• Perform EKG interpretation and assist with bedside procedures.
• Administer and monitor respiratory support (BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen) and ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurse interns, providers, PT and OT to coordinate care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management to meet patient needs.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD

• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:
