MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West, at MetroHealth Main Campus. The 14-bed unit requires skilled bedside care in a high-acuity environment with rotating shifts.

The role emphasizes EKG interpretation, central line care, ventilator support and collaboration with PCNAs, interns, and providers. Ohio RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and relevant experience are required.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide high-acuity nursing care on a 14-bed Critical Care Step Down unit.
• Perform EKG interpretation and monitoring, central line care and respiratory support.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies) as needed.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurse interns, providers, PT and OT to coordinate care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management in a fast-paced environment.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 14 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
