Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, Florida, is seeking a registered nurse for full-time night shifts to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, educate patients and families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree upon hire.
  • Six months of hospital nursing experience upon hire OR successful completion of the AHWC Graduate Nurse Training Program.
  • Active Florida RN or APRN license required upon hire.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or RQI upon hire and then renewed quarterly following RQI protocols.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification or RQI upon hire and then renewed quarterly following RQI protocols.
  • Current NIHSS Certification upon hire.
  • 8 hours Stroke Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.
  • 8 hours Hip & Knee Replacement / Spine Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life‑threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

The Expertise And Experiences You’ll Need To Succeed
