Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care department. The role requires a PA RN license, BCLS and ACLS certifications, and allows for rotating three 12-hour shifts weekly with weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

Applicants should have 1 year of recent critical care or related experience (or 2 years telemetry; or 3 years medical-surgical). BSN preferred; two years of acute care and CCU experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania nursing licensure; other state licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care in the Critical Care department following the Nurse Practice Act.
• Rotating (3) 12-hour shifts per week with rotating days/nights; every other weekend and holidays.

DEPARTMENT: Critical Care

WORK HOURS: (3) 12 hour shifts per week; rotating days/nights; every other weekend & holidays.

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required. Basic Cardiac Life Support. Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment. One year recent experience in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, Cath lab, Post Anesthesia Care Unit or Emergency Department or two years of telemetry nursing experience. Will consider three years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Preferred: Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing. Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Critical Care experience. Certification in this specialty area.
