Job summary

CoxHealth's Cox Surgery Center in Springfield, MO is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to care for patients recovering from anesthesia. The RN will monitor vitals, assess pain, maintain airway and perform ongoing reassessment, with a focus on rapid, safe responses to changing patient conditions.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, MO RN license, and BLS within 90 days; PALS and ACLS within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Active MO RN license; BLS within 90 days; PALS and ACLS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Assess pain and monitor hemodynamic and neurological status.
• Document nursing care plans and interventions.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and ensure airway patency.

The nurse evaluates plans, implements, and documents nursing care, assessment for pain, maintains hemodynamic and neurological stability, and maintains a patent airway.
