Job summary

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to lead nursing care on a designated shift, coordinating staff and resources to deliver high-quality patient care. You will partner with leadership to monitor outcomes and ensure policy compliance within a Level II Trauma center.

The role emphasizes clinical decision-making, patient flow, and collaboration with physicians to optimize care, discharge planning, and staff development in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
• 2+ years of RN experience in an acute care OR environment.
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree; BSN is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start.
• ACLS Provider certification required within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee staff roles on the unit during the designated shift.
• Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
• Identify and address educational needs of the unit.
• Participate in and direct patient care conferences; address discharge needs.
• Ensure rounds are conducted with physicians.
• Monitor patient condition changes and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Ensure orders are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:
