Job summary

Wyandot Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department on a contingent basis. The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care with a flexible schedule that may include 12- and 8-hour shifts, including one weekend shift every 6 weeks and one holiday per year.

The RN will support other departments as needed and participate in a collaborative care environment within a community-focused hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license required.
• ACLS, NRP, TNCC, and PALS certifications required.
• ENPC and TNCC are required within 1 year of hire.
• Two or more years of hospital critical care or Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Ability to recognize and interpret electrocardiographic information.
• Knowledge and experience managing ventilator patients.
• Skilled in setting up and assisting with invasive procedures.
• Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
• Strong communication skills, independent thinking, and commitment to patient-centered care.
• Focused on customer service, teamwork, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and assist other departments as assigned.
• Assess patient needs, plan and coordinate care, and evaluate outcomes efficiently and safely.
• Facilitate collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Adhere to nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote patient advocacy, safety, and improved health outcomes.
• Support teamwork with physicians and other personnel to maintain high-quality care.

The Registered Nurse position is part of the Emergency Department and is a contingent position working approximately 24 hours per two-week pay period. The assigned shift and standard working hours are varied, with a schedule that may include a combination of 12- and 8-hour shifts.
