Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL seeks a Nursing Manager to lead scheduling, staff development, and daily operations, ensuring high quality patient care. You will foster strong physician relationships and collaborate with teams to advance quality, safety, and patient satisfaction targets.

The ideal candidate has a BSN (or agreement), RN licensure, 3–4 years of hospital nursing leadership, and current CPR/BLS. ACLS/PALS/NALS as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN or enrollment in BSN completion
• Minimum 3–4 years of progressively responsible hospital nursing experience.
• RN license in appropriate state.
• CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
• ACLS/PALS/NALS per unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduling, staff development, and daily operations to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Build strong physician relationships and participate in committees while supporting quality improvement and patient satisfaction goals.
• Mentor staff and participate in performance improvement activities and nursing clinical ladder (CARE).
• Demonstrate professional accountability and serve as a role model for Critical Moments of Service Standards.

OVERVIEWProvide leadership and support to nursing staff by helping with scheduling, staff development, and daily operations to ensure high-quality patient care. Build strong relationships with physicians and team members while supporting quality improvement, safety, and patient satisfaction goals.SCHEDULE: 40-hour weekSHIFT: DaysESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrong problem-solving abilities in complex situations.Ability to work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives. Participates and supports the plans in place for selection of staff, evaluation of staff, orientation of new staff, continued education and development of staff, competency evaluation of staff, appropriate scheduling of staff based on patient acuity.Supports and partners with the Manager/Clinical Leader and ensures the knowledge, skills, and behaviors of staff are consistent and in alignment with the goals of the unit.Outstanding relationship building skills.Must possess strong physician relationship skills.Patient focused with a strong commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality, safety, and customer service. BSN or upon hire BSN completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN Completion Program. If hired prior to 1-1-14 in Winnebago County and prior to 9-1-15 in Rock, Walworth and McHenry Counties an ADN only is required. May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines). Certification in specialty preferred. Must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of progressively responsible hospital nursing experience.CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURELicensed as an RN in the State of practiceApproved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (Other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, NALS)SKILLS AND ABILITIESExcellent interpersonal/communication and conflict resolution skills.
