Job summary

Saint Luke’s in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Registered Nurse for full-time clinic duties and regional float coverage. You will provide nursing care, triage calls, and coordinate patient flow across East and Central regions, with an emphasis on patient education and documentation.

The role requires BLS, MO/KS RN licensure, and a willingness to float across clinics, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and potential for additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Registered Nurse licensure in MO/KS with active status.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in clinic settings following standards.
• Conduct telephone triage and coordinate patient care and flow.
• Schedule emergent and non-emergent appointments as needed.
• Educate patients and families; document and interpret care and testing.
• May cover MA/LPN/other office duties as needed.

• East Region – includes clinics on/near the Saint Luke’s East campus, Blue Springs, and Independence

Central Region – includes clinics on/near the Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City (Plaza) campus.

• Differential wage rates for clinic float pool positions based on tier.

Tier 1 = 1 region

Tier 2 = 2 regions

Tier 3 = 3 or 4 regions

The Opportunity

In clinic setting, provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for telephone triage, patient flow, and coordination of patient care. Schedules emergent need patient appointments, identifies learning needs for patients and families, provide advice and recommendations, inserts intravenous access with medication administration and duties as assigned based on clinic need. Delegates tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice. Subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing. Enters admission orders as directed by provider. Responsible for managing expired samples. Able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties, LPN job duties, or other office duties as needed.
