Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Critical Care Registered Nurse for a full-time role with 36 hours per week, evening/night shifts 7p-7a, and every other weekend. The RN provides comprehensive critical care, including teaching, counseling, and collaborative planning with the care team to ensure dignified, patient-centered care.

The position requires a BSN, MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, TCAR or TNCC, and a minimum of 3 years’ CCU experience (or completion of GSMC transition to CC).

Qualifications

• Education: BSN required.
• Experience: 3 years critical care experience or completion of GSMC transition to Critical Care course.
• Certification/Licensure: MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, TCAR or TNCC.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care for patients and families, addressing health maintenance, teaching, counseling, and comfort.
• Collaborates with care team to plan and restore optimal functioning.
• Delivers age-appropriate care for patients from adolescent to elderly, including non-English speakers and special needs.

Position Summary:

The Critical Care RN assumes full responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to patients and their family members. Included in such responsibility is: the health maintenance; teaching; counseling; collaborative planning; comfort and restoration of optimal functioning. Responsibility often may additionally include the dignified death of our patients. Also, within the parameters of her/his previous and continuing education experiences and the Nurse Practice Act, may delegate nursing activities to other RNs and/or health care personnel. The Critical Care RN provides care that addresses the specific needs of all age groups from adolescent to elderly, and is also individualized to a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The Critical Care RN incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, our mission, vision, and values into nursingpractice at Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Education: BSN Required

Compensation Range:

$38.86- $80.77
