Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab Pre/Post role in Houston, TX. The position requires ADN or higher and Texas RN licensure, with current BCLS and ACLS. Experience in Med/Surg and diagnostic procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure required and must hold ADN or higher.
• Experience in Cath Lab procedures and sterile technique.
• Current BCLS & ACLS.
• Have 2 years of Med/Surg or diagnostic testing areas (Endo, Dialysis, PACU/Recovery, Day Surgery, Critical Care, Special Procedures Radiology).
• Hemodynamic and EKG/telemetry experience preferred.
• Conscious Sedation administration a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates Axiom Artis Hemodynamic system and supports cath lab procedures.
• Sets up and maintains equipment for each procedure.
• Maintains sterility and patient safety during procedures, including IV sedation.
• Cares for pre- and post Cath Lab patients.
• Functions as table operator, scrub person, circulator, or monitor tech as needed.
• Monitors patient recovery until baseline and alert.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Maintains a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Promotes and works as a team player.
• Is responsible for the use and functioning ability of the Axiom Artis Hemodynamic system.
• Is knowledgeable of all procedures being performed in the cath lab to include but not limited to the equipment needed for each stated procedure.
• Is able to be multi task and function as a table operator,scrub person, circulator and or monitor tech. Is able to care for pre and post Cath Lab patients
• Is competent in each of the previous roles mentioned and the competencies are evaluated annually and documented on competency skill checklists.
• Initiates and sets-up equipment for each stated procedure.
• Maintains sterility of equipment during procedures. Is knowledgeable of sterile technique for all stated procedures. Is proficient for in veni-puncture skills for the administration of IV conscious sedation, volume and emergency medication during any given procedure.
• Knowledgeable in the area of monitoring during induction of the conscious sedation medication. Continues to monitor pre-intra- and post procedure until patient is fully alert and all VS and Aldrete score return to patients baseline.
• Maintains a balance of supplies for utilization during procedures while being cost conscious. Is a customer service representative and meets or exceeds all of tenets customer service skills.
• Other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

• ADN or higher
• RN Licensure by the State Board of Nursing in Texas
• CURRENT BCLS & ACLS
• Have previously worked Med/Surg and a diagnostic testing/special procedure area for 2 years.(Endo, Dialysis, PACU/Recovery, Day Surgery, Critical Care, Special Procedures Radiology)
• Hemodynamic and EKG (telemetry) experience preferred.
• Administration of Conscious Sedation a plus.
