Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse to identify health alterations, assess patient responses, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes. The role includes supervising LPNs/UAPs, delegating care, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure quality patient care.

A BSN and board certification are preferred, with timelines for obtaining them described above. Shared governance and advocacy are emphasized as part of UF Health's mission to set a new standard of nursing

Qualifications

• BSN preferred at time of hire.
• BSN must be obtained within three years if hired after April 30, 2014.
• Professional nursing board certification required within two years if hired after June 30, 2011.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient alterations in health and assess responses to health problems.
• Implement nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Involve patient and family in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as appropriate.
• Supervise/direct care by LPNs and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
• Assign/delegate care to qualified team members and coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Contribute to a positive unit-based work and professional environment to support patient advocacy.
