Unit Specializes in: 4 west is a cardiac telemetry unit dedicated to caring for acutely ill adult patients with various diagnoses. The team manages chronic illnesses and treats acute conditions, emphasizing safe, reliable, and quality care. We promote professional growth and offer ACLS and arrhythmia/EKG interpretation training. RN staffing ratios are 1:5 with acuity-based assignments, and PCA ratios are 1:8. We are driven by a commitment to make a difference in patient care. Join our team and help the helpers!

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is the largest hospital in DMC, featuring a comprehensive heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic services. It boasts a pioneering minimally invasive joint replacement program and operates over 21 outpatient sites and surgery centers across Wayne and Oakland Counties. Sinai-Grace is one of ten hospitals nationally awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set standards in cardiac care.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring quality nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members and support services. The RN role includes leadership, partnership, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN:

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
• Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care
• Delegates care activities to team members
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge
• Reports to senior management and participates in shared decision-making

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from a nursing school required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
