Job summary

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN, is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse for Cardiac Rehabilitation. You will perform RN duties in Cardiac Rehab, lead by example, promote standards, ensure a safe environment, and help develop and maintain policies.

This role supports patients across adult, geriatric, pediatric populations, requires BLS and ACLS, and requires collaboration with physicians and staff to deliver individual care and education.

Qualifications

• Must be currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Must have current BLS and ACLS certification per AHA guidelines.
• Experience caring for adult, geriatric, adolescent and pediatric patients.
• Experience in cardiac care and rhythm recognition/interpretation.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Follow the RN process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation.
• Serve as a resource to nursing staff.
• Provide patient and staff education.
• Perform RN duties in Cardiac Rehab as assigned.
• Collaborate with providers to meet individual patient needs.
• Perform EKGs and chest pain/cardiac assessments as appropriate.
• Adhere to policies and maintain attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform RN job duties in Cardiac Rehab. Will lead by example promoting professional standards of conduct, proper ethics, positive interactions, morale and teamwork. Promotes a safe work environment for patients and employees. Assists in developing and maintaining policies and procedures in Cardiac Rehabilitation.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Follow the RN process for nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of patient progress.
2. Act as a resource to nursing staff as needed.
3. Provide patient and staff education.
4. Perform RN job duties in Cardiac Rehab as assigned.
5. Works cooperatively with the providers to assess the needs of each patient on an individual basis and provide the services necessary to meet these needs.
6. Performs EKG’s and chest pain/cardiac assessment when appropriate.
7. Performs BCLS & ACLS per AHA guidelines.
8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
2. Must have current BLS and ACLS certification per AHA guidelines.
3. Experience in assessing the individual needs of the adult, geriatric, adolescent and pediatric patients.
4. Experience in cardiac care, cardiac rhythm recognition, cardiac rhythm interpretation, exercise prescription and progression preferred.
5. Assist the physician in the delivery of patient care in Cardiology.
6. Demonstrates clinical competence in providing patient and family cardiac rehab education, including healthy lifestyle and change management.
7. Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities and workload, with the use of critical thinking, delegation skills and respectful communication.
8. Follow and adhere to all GICH policies.
9. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
