Job summary

• BLS CPR required on hire; quarterly RQI competency post-hire per facility requirements; ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition with timely intervention.
• Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac-related infusions at higher doses.
• Initiates and titrates drips related to critical care DKA/HHS algorithms; uses CIWA protocol as needed.

This 24 bed Critical Care Unit houses patients being admitted for cardiac thoracic and vascular care. This unit also entails PCU levels of care. Staffing is 1-3:4.

Essential Duties

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
• Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
• Initiates and titrates drips related to critical care DKA/HHS algorithms.
• Use of phenobarbital for CIWA patients
• Job Requirements*Required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
• 1-2 years med/surg experience or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU orFor those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire through the American Heart Association. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
• Previous PCU/ICU experience or
• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute or
• Certified Neuroscience RN
