Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 24-bed unit specializing in cardiac, thoracic, vascular care and PCU-levels. You will perform assessments, implement care plans, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires a nursing degree, WA RN license upon hire, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and 1–2 years med/surg experience or a PCU/ICU residency for new grads.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; WA RN license upon hire.
• BLS CPR required upon hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years med/surg experience or new graduate with PCU/ICU residency.
• For those with no PCU/ICU experience, must complete PCU or critical care residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring with arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
• Initiates and titrates complex cardiac-related infusions at higher doses.
• Initiates and titrates drips related to critical care DKA/HHS algorithms.
• Uses phenobarbital for CIWA patients.

Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. This 24 bed Unit houses patients being admitted for cardiac thoracic and vascular care. This unit also entails PCU levels of care. Staffing is 1-3:4.

Essential Duties

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
• Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
• Initiates and titrates drips related to critical care DKA/HHS algorithms.
• Use of phenobarbital for CIWA patients

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing., upon hire and
• 1-2 years med/surg experience or
• New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU orFor those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire and
• Previous PCU/ICU experience or
• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire and
• Certified Neuroscience RN, upon hire
