Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL seeks a Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for post-CABG, heart transplant, valve replacement and related cardiac patients. The RN collaborates with providers to support pre- and post-operative care and advocates for patients to ensure a superior experience.

• Florida Registered Nurse licensure or appropriate compact licensure.
• Active FL RN license within 60 days of hire if compact.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiac and telemetry patients such as post CABG, post heart transplantation, valve replacement, pacemakers, and AICD patients.
• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care administration in the patient record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used for cardiac and medical-surgical care.

The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for post CABG and heart transplantation patients, as well as pre and post cardiac catherization or electrophysiology lab, and valve replacement patients. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Care for cardiac and telemetry patients such as post CABG, post heart transplantation, valve replacement, pacemakers, and AICD patients

What qualifications you will need:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
