Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our full-time team. The role provides direct patient care in the cardiovascular lab, including admitting, monitoring, and post-procedure support for adult patients, with emphasis on safety, communication with physicians, and team collaboration.

The position requires NV nursing license, BLS, ACLS, telemetry experience, and flexibility for on-call standby.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• POC certification within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years telemetry experience required.
• Cath Lab experience preferred.
• 1 year FT or 3 years PT in an acute care setting preferred.
• Willing to take call/standby in Cardiovascular lab.

Responsibilities

• Admit, recover, and discharge patients from the Cardiovascular Lab.
• Provide direct patient care and adjust nursing care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Perform age-appropriate care; interpret data to meet developmental needs.
• Conduct head-to-toe assessments and post-procedure reassessments.

This Cath Lab Registered Nurse opportunity is Full Time on our Cath Lab Unit and offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to adult patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment. This position communicates effectively with the physician and team members about patient condition. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all appropriate needs of the cardiovascular lab team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure as well as administers moderate sedation under the guidance of the Physician. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for admitting, recovering and discharging of patients from the Cardiovascular Lab.
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Able to interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes post-procedure assessments
