Job summary

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at CoxHealth Branson is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you’ll provide direct, individualized care to acutely critically ill patients. You’ll monitor complex equipment, interpret data, assist with procedures, and work with a supportive team dedicated to professional growth and clinical excellence.

Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; Missouri RN license; BLS within 90 days; ACLS within one year; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• BSN preferred.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire; ACLS within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized care to acutely ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor complex equipment and vital signs; interpret data and adjust treatments.
• Assist physicians with procedures and targeted therapies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and outcomes.

The critical care nurse provides direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients, in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. They assess the patient’s condition, perform diagnostic tests, begin treatments and assist doctors with any required medical procedures. The critical care nurse monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets and records electronic displays; i.e. intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, etc.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
