Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse to deliver and manage direct patient care using the Nursing Process from admission through discharge. The role includes patient assessment and coordinating discharge planning within the assigned unit.

The position requires Massachusetts nursing licensure and BLS, with ACLS in select areas. A signing bonus may be available; hours are day shift, on-site in Worcester, MA.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification is required for every RN.
• ACLS is required in select areas within 6 months or sooner (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.

Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.
