Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno is seeking a registered nurse to join the behavioral health/medical telemetry unit. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and compassionate nursing across diagnosis and co-morbidities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, participate in educational activities with patients and families, and provide evidence-based nursing care in a full-time schedule with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license or license in good standing.
  • Current LPN license.
  • Current BLS certificate.
  • One year full-time or three years part-time experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
  • Contructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill; integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
  • Collaborates with the patient's designated care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer adult behavioral health services.

The Behavioral Health Unit is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

This Registered Nurse opportunity is full time, offers full benefits, and a convenient flexible schedule. We are looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse that will help provide safe and compassionate care to our patients in the medical/telemetry environment.
