Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join Residential Treatment Program in Cincinnati, OH. The program provides safe, secure, trauma-responsive residential services in a therapeutic environment where clients receive individualized care and support. The Nurse will provide direct patient care, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical and psychiatric needs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes for our residential clients.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct nursing care to clients in a residential behavioral health setting.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of medications and treatments on targeted symptoms and accurately document findings.
- Monitor clients and advocate for medication re-evaluations and appropriate laboratory testing.
- Perform or assist with blood draws, injections, and other nursing procedures.
- Assist prescribers during patient appointments by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and new orders.
- Assess residential clients for injuries, illnesses, and other medical concerns.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medications, first-aid supplies, laboratory supplies, and other medical equipment.
- Respond to urgent medical and psychiatric concerns and provide appropriate first aid and monitoring.
- Arrange transportation and emergency services when medically or psychiatrically necessary.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, trauma-responsive environment for all clients.
Required:
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Nursing degree corresponding to RN licensure.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective during crisis situations.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Must be available to work three 12 hour shifts
Preferred:
- 1–2 years of experience in behavioral health or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with youth.
- Experience working with individuals with a variety of mental health diagnoses.
- Experience in a residential, psychiatric, or other behavioral healthcare setting.
