Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital DeRidder is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and coordinate patient care across nursing staff in our adult and senior psychiatric program. We sponsor RN visas and support licensure.

The RN will assess patients using the nursing process, develop individualized care plans, administer medications safely, document thoroughly, and comply with Joint Commission and state regulations. This role emphasizes quality nursing care and professional development.

Qualifications

• RN must assess patient and formulate an individualized plan of care.
• Administer medications safely as prescribed.
• Document care and patient responses thoroughly and accurately.
• Maintain licensure and comply with Joint Commission, federal and state regulations.
• Support performance improvement standards and patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process from assessment to discharge.
• Identify risk levels and plan individualized interventions.
• Demonstrate psychiatric nursing knowledge and appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications safely and educate patients on them.
• Document care, progress, and responses accurately.
• Review and update medical records per policy.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Assign tasks and advocate for patient safety.
• Apply nursing resources to support evidence-based practice.
• Float among clinical services as needed.
