Job summary
Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare in Flowood, Mississippi, is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for weekend night shifts (Friday–Sunday, 7 PM–7 AM). The role offers a 36-hour work week, full benefits, and overtime opportunities. New grads are welcome to apply and must attend orientation sessions as required.
The facility provides psychiatric treatment for adults and youths, with inpatient and outpatient services across multiple counties. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in Mississippi.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of experience in mental health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial clinical assessments and gather medical histories for intake.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine levels of care.
- Provide education to patients and families about treatment plans and facility policies.
- Demonstrate strong communication, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ensure smooth and compassionate intake processes for behavioral health treatment.

The Intake/Admissions Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and compassionate intake process for patients seeking behavioral health treatment. This position is responsible for conducting initial clinical assessments, gathering medical histories, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to determine appropriate levels of care. The Intake/Admissions Nurse provides education to patients and families, ensuring understanding of treatment plans and facility policies. Strong communication, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills are essential for success in this role.
