Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ASC to work in a primary nursing area and support cross-training across ASC operations. The RN will coordinate telephone pre-admission assessments for ASC patients and participate in day-to-day ASC activities with a focus on efficient, patient-centered care.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Nursing and an active RN license in the appropriate state; 1 year of ASC, PACU, or OR experience is preferred, with ACLS/PALS preferred.

The RN ASC is also responsible for the coordination of the telephone pre-admission assessment process for patients in the ASC environment.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: RN License in Appropriate State, required. ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required): Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
