OSS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ASC/OR department on a PRN basis. The role involves participating in the OR healthcare team, ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures, and maintaining clinical competency. Candidates must have a valid PA RN license and relevant certifications. This position requires flexibility in scheduling with a minimum of one shift per month.

Participates as a member of the OR healthcare team in planning, preparing, and producing a safe and effective OR experience for patients undergoing surgery. Provides guidance and supervision to surgical technicians and input in the development and implementation of goals and objectives to support the nursing process, standards development process, and the performance improvement process. Maintains clinical competency in professional nursing practice.
PRN requires one shift per month minimum and shift availability per month varies based on staff vacation requests and patient census. Typically, PRN staff work anywhere from 2 to 8 shifts per month. For the OR, applicants must be available from 6:30 am to 5 pm to be considered for the position.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.
Moderate physical effort when working in patient care environment consisting of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping. Moderate sitting and keyboarding when performing administrative responsibilities. Fine and gross motor skills and manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment. Occasionally lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.
Climate controlled environment with occasional periods of being outside. Exposed to bloodborne pathogens, anesthetic gases, sterilizers, electrical and mechanical hazards, confused or combative patients bio-contaminated waste and unpleasant elements. Subject to stressful situations; occasional long or irregular hours.
