Job summary

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, OR, is seeking a 0.9 FTE registered nurse for the 2nd shift in the Emergency Department to deliver efficient and compassionate care alongside a team of physicians, nurses, and techs.

The role focuses on stabilizing patients, educating on continued care, and prioritizing based on acuity to ensure best outcomes for ER patients.

Qualifications

• RN license with Oregon OSBN in hand at start.
• BLS certification required at start.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required at start.
• TNCC within 4 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work with physicians, nurses, and technicians to provide rapid, high‑quality emergency care.
• Stabilize and monitor patients and educate them on continued care.
• Assess ER patients quickly, prioritize by acuity, and communicate conditions to the care team.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Salary Range: $53.99 - $77.79

Shift Differentials

• $2.50 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• $10.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am

Position Summary

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, located in Medford, is a 378-bed regional referral and level 2 trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise--all administered with a patient-focused philosophy. Our hospital team delivers nationally recognized heart and vascular care, orthopedic services, and cancer care, as well as a comprehensive range of other key services including neurology and neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, rehabilitation services, work health, diabetes care, hospice services, a primary stroke center, an accredited hospital-based sleep center, and the regions only neonatal intensive care unit.
Our state-of-the-Emergency Department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) sees an average of 130 patients a day. It is a level 2 trauma center. We have 39 rooms with 20 designated as high acuity, 5 moderate/low acuity, 4 Psych flex rooms and 5 Triage rooms. RN to patient ratios are: 1:1 - 1:4 depending on acuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Working alongside a team of highly trained physicians, nurses, and techs to provide both efficient and excellent emergency care.
• Providing the upmost care to emergency room patients through stabilization and monitoring of current health conditions.
• Advising patients on their current condition and educating them on continued care.
• Quickly and safely assessing Emergency Room patients and prioritizing based on acuity measures.
  

Position Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department and/or Critical Care experience is required - OR - ,
  

Previous experience in one of the below is required;

• Emergency Department Technician
• Completion of practicum hours in an Emergency Department during nursing school
• Previous EMS Licensure
• 9 months of Clinical Decision Unit RN at Asante
  

Required Licensure/Certifications

• RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN), upon start.
• BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start.
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start.
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start.
• TNCC: Trauma Nurse Core Course - OR - ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses) within 4 months of hire
  

Preferred Licensure/Certifications

• CEN: Certified Emergency Nurse
  

For New Graduate RN's ONLY (as defined by the hob description): if any additional certifications are required for the unit, as listed on the position qualifications, you have 4 months from your hire date to acquire them. (BLS and RN are still required at the date of hire for all RN's).
