Job summary

IU Health is seeking a detail-oriented Anesthesia Nurse with at least 1 year of RN experience to join our intraoperative team in Indiana. The role involves assisting anesthesiologists with venous access, induction and extubation, patient positioning, medications, and nerve blocks, with a focus on pediatric cases and support for adults as needed.

It is a part-time daytime shift with a referral bonus eligible.

Qualifications

• RN with minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license.
• BLS certification required; other advanced life support may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologist with venous access, induction and extubation.
• Assist with patient positioning and medications; provide nerve blocks as designated.
• Support pediatric anesthesia, with adult cases as needed; integral part of the intraoperative team.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Anesthesia Nurseto join our team and assist our anesthesiastaff, surgical team and patients. Anesthesia Nurses are responsible for assisting the anesthesiologist with venous access, induction and extubation, assisting with positioning of patients, medications, nerve blocks etc. The Anesthesia RNs are primarily focused on our pediatric population and will assist with adults as needed and when available. The anesthesia RNs are an integral part of the intraoperative team

Qualifications

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if theypossessmore than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may berequiredper unit/departmentspecialty according to patient care policies.
