Job summary

Hospice of the Bluegrass Inc. seeks an After-Hours Hospice RN to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care after regular business hours. You will respond to patient needs, manage symptoms, and provide clinical guidance in-home settings, supporting families in challenging times.

The role requires autonomous work, strong communication, and adherence to hospice philosophy, with on-site visits to patients' homes and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Current RN license issued by Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact state.
• Minimum of 1 year general nursing experience preferred; new grads considered.
• Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient needs after hours, manage symptoms, and provide clinical guidance.

Schedule:

Every other weekend 8:00am-9:00pm, 4 shifts Monday-Friday 9:00am-10:00pm to be scheduled with supervisor

Location:

Fayette and Jessamine County

Incentive:

$4.00 per hour on-call shift differential pay for shifts after 5:00pm weeknights and all day for weekend shifts, in addition to base pay

Position Summary:

TheAfter-HoursHospice RNdeliverscompassionate, patient-centeredcare forindividuals receivingcomprehensive health careservices.Thiscritical role ensures continuityof care by responding to patient needs, managing symptoms, providing emotional support, and offering clinical guidance to patients and families outside of regular business hours.TheAfter-HoursHospice RN willwork independentlyin their home setting and will perform on-site visitsto the Hospice patient’s home care settingor wherever the patient calls homewhen needed.Home care settingsmayconsist ofa private residence, skilled nursing facility, personal care home, and/or other interim livingarrangements. A Registered Nurse in this position will havestrongcommunicationskills, the competence to work autonomously, professionalism to work within an interdisciplinary team, and the ability to provide care with empathy. Position Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing or through a participating Compact State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of one (1) year of general nursing experience preferred; new graduate nurses will be considered.
• Demonstrates strong clinical nursing skills and the ability to maintain professionalism during emotionally challenging situations.
• Provides compassionate, patient-centered care while serving diverse populations with respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Adheres to accepted professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice.
• Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to hospice philosophy and the principles of death and dying.
• Maintains current CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state minimum requirements.
