Shift: 7a-7p, 7p-7a

Summary:

Plans for, delivers, documents, and evaluates nursing care of patients in an assigned area according to their individual needs, provider’s orders, and recognized nursing standards, techniques, procedures, and policies. Directs activities of assigned nursing personnel. Observes, assesses, and reports on patient conditions. Maintains accurate and timely documentation reflecting patient care, treatment, and responses. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN licensure in Ohio. AHA Basic Life Support certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences.
• Knowledge of nursing instruments, equipment, supplies, and medical asepsis.
• Ability to maintain positive relations with staff and medical personnel.
• Physical coordination and dexterity.
• PRN and Float staff must have at least one year of recent clinical experience in the area of interest.
• All clinical nurses must acquire unit-specific competencies, including certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and NRP, within specified timeframes.
• Preferred: BSN, BMT certification, OR experience with CNOR, PACU or critical care experience, psychiatric experience, radiology experience, PALS certification, outpatient or inpatient cardiac-pulmonary nursing experience, experience with smoking cessation, wellness, and special populations, TB clinic/public health experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills. Supervisory or project management experience.
• Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, lift up to 300 pounds with assistance, and push up to 500 pounds with assistance. Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning products.
