Shift: 7a-7p, 7p-7a

Summary:

Plans, delivers, documents, and evaluates nursing care for patients in an assigned area based on individual needs, provider’s orders, and recognized nursing standards. Directs nursing personnel activities, observes and assesses patient conditions, and maintains accurate documentation of care and patient responses. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

• Required: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN licensure in Ohio; BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days).
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences.
• Knowledge of nursing instruments, equipment, supplies, and medical asepsis.
• Ability to maintain positive relations and physical coordination.
• PRN and Float staff require at least one year of recent clinical experience.
• All nurses must acquire unit-specific competencies post-placement.
• Required certifications include ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP (or obtain within specified time).

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and certification.
• Specialized experience depending on unit, e.g., OR, PACU, Psychiatry, Radiology, Cardio-Pulm Rehab.
• Additional certifications and prior supervisory or project management experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, walk, and lift/push heavy weights with assistance.
• Normal vision and hearing with or without correction.
• Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning products.
