Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking an RN for the Acute Rehab Unit. The nurse will deliver nursing care during day shift (7:00am-7:30pm) on a per diem basis, ensuring adherence to care standards and policies.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning and implementing care, and supervising ancillary staff. Strong clinical skills and Michigan RN licensure are required, with BLS; ACLS/NRP/PALS as applicable to the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area may be required to maintain competency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• ACLS/NRP/PALS within specified timelines if applicable to unit.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.
• Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
