Job summary

Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, FL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide dialysis-focused patient care and education. The RN will administer dialysis per physician orders, assess patient needs, and collaborate with the care team to develop individualized plans of care.

The role requires Florida RN license or eligibility for compact state, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of nursing experience (dialysis and ICU preferred).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. This position manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This nurse is responsible for administering the Dialysis treatment to the patient in accordance with the physician orders.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Assesses, identifies, and prioritizes patient and family needs to provide quality care to all patients. Develops, discusses, and communicates plan of care for each patient in collaboration with the care team.


• Safely delivers medications and treatments. Monitors and documents patient responses and upholds all safety policies and protocols including patient identification, risk mitigation ensuring a safe individualized plan of care.


• Performs continuous patient assessment, detects changes in condition, and communicates with appropriate care team members to support prompt clinical decision making.


• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of care provided.


• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facility meeting goals and objectives.


• Maintains current documentation and required licensure, certifications, required education, and competencies in accordance with unit scope of service and professional standards. Pursues professional growth and development.


• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facilitate the department’s unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.


• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required or


• Associates Degree Nursing Required


• Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

• 1 year Nursing experience. Required


• 1 year Dialysis experience. Preferred


• 1 year Intensive Care experience. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required


• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
