Bassett Medical Center's Special Care Unit is a 24-bed intermediate care unit, serving as the essential link between our hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and Medical Units. Because of the higher clinical needs of the patient’s cared for on this unit, the staffing is allocated to allow for more direct patient care nursing hours. This close knit unit supports intraprofessional collaborative care. The programs and initiatives of the department are directed by the staff themselves through their flourishing unit practice council. The care is fast pace, progressive and vital to meet the needs of our rural community.
The Special Care unit is consistently hiring for Registered Nurses with various shift and position types available. You will have the opportunity to provide us with your preferences during the application process so we can discuss specific positions in our conversations.
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN), Acute Care in the Special Care unit is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient’s needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.

All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Maximum:USD $65.89/Hr.
