AdventHealth in Sanford, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role includes conducting clinical assessments, developing care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary care, monitoring progress, documenting outcomes, and educating patients and families to promote understanding and compliance.

The position requires an RN license, ADN minimum with BSN preferred, and BLS. Experience in acute care and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license required (registered nurse)
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• BLS certification required; other certifications preferred (CEN, CCP, NRP)
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nurses, social workers and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Communicate with patients, families and the care team.
• Document assessments, plans, interventions and outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and options.
• Supervise nursing and support staff; ensure standards.
• Coordinate discharge planning for smooth transition home or to another facility.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Address issues related to patient care, staffing and resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
