Registered Nurse - Acute Care of the Elderly - 36 Hours - Day Shift

REGISTERED NURSE - ACUTE CARE OF THE ELDERLY DEPARTMENT - 36 HOURS - DAY SHIFT

*Graduate Nurses will also be considered for this role.

Sign On Bonus $7,500.00

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM three times per week, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in geriatric care and some stroke cases of all ages. Our nurses typically have a patient ratio of 5:1, supported by Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns, and Patient Care Technicians daily. We operate with a team mentality and focus on building relationships with our patients during their stay (usually a minimum of 3 days). We welcome candidates of all educational backgrounds and experiences and provide training to ensure your success in this environment. Join our team!

  • Provides leadership in coordinating and delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide, delegate, supervise, document care, and educate patients and families.
  • Effectively communicates relevant patient and family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participates in resolving variances from patient goals and ensures the implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital staff.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
