REGISTERED NURSE - ACUTE CARE OF THE ELDERLY DEPARTMENT - 36 HOURS - DAY SHIFT

Sign On Bonus $7,500

Full Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in geriatric care as well as some stroke cases of all ages. Our nurses have a typical patient ratio of 5:1, and the support of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns, and Patient Care Technicians on a daily basis. We operate with a team mentality and enjoy building relationships with our patients throughout their stay (typically a minimum of 3 days). We welcome candidates of all educational backgrounds and experiences and ensure that you are trained to be successful in this environment. Come join our team!

  1. Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  2. Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  3. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  4. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  5. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  6. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED:

  1. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  2. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
