Registered Nurse--Acute Care Nurse Manager

• Department: Department of Veterans Affairs

The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System is recruiting for one full-time Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager. The Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager will function within Acute Care Nursing Service

Key Responsibilities

Major Duties: -Ensuring compliance with professional practice standards in designated clinical area in order to improve delivery of care, promote patient safety monitoring, and unit level nursing performance. -Evaluating unit's nursing productivity, staffing methodology, and improving systems/work flow. -Developing staffing plans, time schedules, and monitoring leave to ensure adequate staffing for patient care.

-Selecting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling staff. -Assuring that staff provide safe and effective patient care and work as a team with the unit. -Setting expectations for staff performance and outcomes; providing staff feedback. -Assuring a safe environment for staff and patients. -Educating and monitoring infection control and safe patient handling, and emergency management.
