Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System in Reno, NV, is seeking an RN to provide safe and competent nursing care in a 170-bed acute care setting. You will lead and support the healthcare team, guided by Patient Centered Care and Service Excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates Patient Centered Care and Service Excellence standards at all times.
• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill; coordinates indirect and direct patient care activities.
• Coordinates the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients; develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
• Performs hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs.

Education
