Job summary

Franciscan Health Munster Campus in Munster, IN is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care. You will develop and implement a plan of care, perform assessments, coordinate with physicians, educate patients and families, and ensure compliance with nursing standards.

The unit is a 24-bed setting with typical 1:5 patient ratios; chemotherapy and peritoneal dialysis training offered after one year.

Qualifications

• RN license to practice in Indiana or NLC
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Experienced and new graduates welcome to apply

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing total comprehensive nursing to patients and their families through the development of a plan of care, including implementing, reassessing, evaluating and revising the plan of care. The RN develops these patient-specific plans by performing psychosocial/physiologic assessments, considering patients’ cultural/ ethical/ spiritual needs, reviewing trends of similar patients, as well as considering physicians’ orders regarding care. The RN integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care to include patient and family education, and actively supports and incorporates nursing regulations and standards, as well as Franciscan Alliance processes and procedures in daily practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state or as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing/Patient Care from an accredited program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Patient Care from an accredited program
• Required: Experienced and new graduate nurses are welcome to apply
• A team-oriented RN willing to be flexible and dynamic in meeting patient care needs
