Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide and coordinate competent, evidence-based care across the patient care continuum. You will participate in decision-making, teaching, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to advance patient plans and outcomes.

The role requires an ASN with RN licensure in Indiana or NLC, BLS certification, and graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program. BSN preferred, with possible unit-specific life support requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Requires active RN license in Indiana or an active NLC RN license.
• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions possible with >2 years acute care experience (subject to CNO approval).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department.

Overview

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
