CoxHealth in Springfield, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 8E Observation Unit. The role involves nursing care for medical and surgical patients, monitoring vitals, administering medications, and coordinating transitions to inpatient or discharge when medically appropriate.

The unit emphasizes patient-centered care, rapid assessments, and teamwork with ED, inpatient and outpatient teams to optimize throughput and patient safety. BLS required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with MO RN licensure
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• BSN degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care for medical/surgical patients
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document care
• Educate patients and families; coordinate with care teams
• Assess patient needs and escalate concerns as needed
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met during shifts
