Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on the night shift in Worcester, MA. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and coordination of care for diverse patient populations, with emphasis on safety and evidence-based nursing.

The role requires MA RN licensure, BLS, and preferably a BSN. Night shift hours are 11pm-7:30am; non-exempt status with potential signing bonus discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
• BLS is required for every RN unless ACLS is current; unit certifications may apply.
• ACLS certification is preferred where required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delivers, and manages direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Performs assessments and discharges planning as appropriate for age group.
• Supervises and coordinates care within the assigned clinical setting.
• Documents care and coordinates education for patient and family.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $39.89 - $87.15

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice.

Major Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/ significant other.

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

Required

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills

Required

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
