Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse to join the 6 East Nursing team. This full-time role covers the 3p-11:30pm evening shift with weekends on a rotating basis, requiring a Maryland-style admission-to-discharge nursing process and strong patient assessment skills.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage with a potential signing bonus. Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS are required, ACLS if applicable.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required and current.
• BLS is required for all RNs; ACLS current if applicable.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practice and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per procedure.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care in the unit.
• Delegates tasks to team members per competency and job description.

$37.51 - $81.95

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
2. Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
3. Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
4. Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
5. Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Preferred

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
