Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time role in the Nursing 8 North unit. The position uses the Nursing Process from admission to discharge and requires collaboration with the care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires current Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS (ACLS preferred). Nurses oversee care plans, administer medications, and participate in discharge planning while supporting a patient-centered culture of respect.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level. Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/ significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $52.50 - $57.50 (based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week). Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule Details: Holidays - One Major Summer Holiday, Holidays - One Major Winter Holiday, Sunday through Saturday, Weekends - One Full Weekend a Month. Scheduled Hours: 8 and 12 hours, Nights and Days. Shift: 4 - Mixed Shift, 8 Hours ("United States of America"). Hours: 0. Cost Center: 10020 - 2147 Nursing 8 North. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Experience/Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
